Getting around Hong Kong

(Here's an address label if you'd like to show it to your driver: Label)

You shouldn't really need this section, afterall, you've lived here for 2+ years. But just in case you'd like to refresh your memory, here are some info:

[One thing you should consider of getting while you're in Hong Kong is an "Octopus Card", a smart card that you can use to pay for most public transport (except taxi) and use at convenient stores (e.g. 7-11), vending machines, supermarkers, fast food restaurants etc. The card sells for HKD 150, with HKD 100 as stored value that you can spend and HKD 50 as deposit. You can return the card afterwards and get any unused amount and the deposit refunded (minus HKD 7 handling fee). Of course, you can add more money to it as you wish. (details)

Since you left 10 years ago, Ma On Shan has its railway system. The closest station to college is near Lee On, that runs to Tai Wai, one station from Shatin and Kowloon Tong, where you can change to MTR. (map)

    Quick schedule:

    From First Train Last Train

  2. MTR

The MTR hasn't changed much, other than a new line to the airport, a line to Disney, and another line to Tseung Kwan O in eastern Hong Kong, it's pretty much the same as 10 years ago. It is still the most convenient way to get around Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. (map).

  3. Bus
